Hwange National Park spans 14,650 km² of Kalahari sands and teak woodland. It hosts over 100 mammal species, 400 bird species, and one of the largest elephant populations in Africa - over 50,000 individuals.
The park’s pumped waterholes, originally installed in the 1930s when natural springs dried up, draw incredible game concentrations in the dry season. Hwange is also famous for the legacy of Cecil the Lion and ongoing conservation work in the area.
