Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and the tallest free-standing mountain in the world, rising 5,895 metres above sea level. Unlike most peaks of its height, the summit is reachable without technical climbing - only fitness, acclimatisation, and determination.
Climbers traverse five distinct ecological zones in 5–9 days: cultivated farmland, rainforest, heath/moorland, alpine desert, and arctic summit. Multiple routes (Marangu, Machame, Lemosho, Rongai) suit different fitness levels and timeframes.
